Dr. Safi Asim Bin Asif is a dedicated chemist and material scientist with a strong passion for developing innovative solutions at the intersection of nanotechnology, electrochemistry, and sustainable technologies. Dr. Asim has been selected as Wenzhou Talent Program (Talent D) in Wenzhou University and elected as secretary and head of young scientists' committee in Asian Academy of Sciences (AASc).
He earned his PhD in Chemistry in 2015, specializing in electrochemical biosensing based on graphene-based nanomaterials and photocatalysts. He also holds an M.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry (2008) and was awarded Three Gold Medals.
With over a decade of experience, Dr. Asim has built extensive research and teaching expertise in material science, advanced instrumentation, and the application of magnetised water for water treatment and eco-environmental applications. He has several international and good impact publications in peer-reviewed journals. His current research interests focus on (but not limited to) cutting-edge functional materials and devices, including:
Graphene-based biosensors and chemical sensors
Photocatalysis
Energy sector
Flexible electronics
Photovoltaic devices
Optoelectronics
Batteries and supercapacitors
Wastewater treatment
Environmental remediation technologies
Dr. Asim is committed to advancing sustainable energy solutions, environmental remediation technologies, and next-generation sensing platforms that address real-world challenges in healthcare, environmental monitoring, and renewable energy. He combines rigorous academic research with a practical approach to teaching and mentoring the next generation of scientists. More interestingly, Dr. Asim is an alumnus of 60th International and multidisciplinary Nobel Laureate Meeting (2010).
